Disadvantages of zinc-chromium coating process for fasteners

Although zinc-chromium coating has many advantages, it also has some shortcomings, mainly reflected in:

1). The zinc-chromium coating contains chromium ions that are harmful to the environment and the human body, especially hexavalent chromium ions, which have a carcinogenic effect.

2). The sintering temperature of zinc-chromium coating is high, the time is long, and the energy consumption is large.

3). The surface hardness of zinc-chromium coating is not high, and the wear resistance is not good. Moreover, the products of zinc-chromium coating are not suitable for contact and connection with copper, magnesium, nickel and stainless steel components, because they will cause contact. Corrosion will affect the surface quality and anti-corrosion performance of the product.

4). The surface color of the zinc-chromium coating is single, only silver white and silver gray, which is not suitable for the individual needs of automobile development. However, different colors can be obtained through post-treatment or composite coating to improve the decoration and matching of truck parts.

5). The conductive property of zinc-chromium coating is not very good, so it is not suitable for conductive connection parts, such as the grounding bolts of electrical appliances.
