What are the processing methods of screw manufacturers

In fact, screw processing methods mainly include forging processing and turning processing. There are two types of forging processing: cold heading and hot heading. Cold heading is a process in which the wire is extruded and deformed with the help of an external force without heating the wire. Hot heading is a process where the blank is heated to a temperature above the metal recrystallization temperature. An appropriate temperature for extrusion processing.

1. The cold heading process can save raw materials, reduce waste, have high production efficiency, and can reduce the production cost of screws. In addition, with the cooperation of the mold, screws that are complex and difficult to cut can be made, and the same mold can be reused. The larger the image volume, the lower the unit price, which is very suitable for large-volume screw orders. The important thing is that the cold-headed screw has a smooth appearance without burrs, and has good hardness, eliminating the need for heat treatment.

2. When some screws need to be made of materials with large deformation scandium force, cold heading is not necessary. At this time, the screw manufacturer will recommend using hot piers, which also require molds. ; However, after the raw material is heated, the scandium force of the blank is reduced, and the screw is easy to form, which can extend the service life of the mold, which is also a good choice. However, because the hot pier needs to be heated, the material will be oxidized, and problems such as decarburization and thermal expansion will occur, which will reduce the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the screw, so a large amount of cutting is required to obtain the finished product.

3. There is also a turning method, which is to remove the material on the lathe to make the material to the expected shape. The processing accuracy is high and it is not limited by the mold. The disadvantage is that it requires manual operation, high cost, and slow processing speed.

Each processing method has advantages and disadvantages. Of course, the actual situation is to choose a suitable processing method according to the needs of customers.
